Ministries
Ministry is a word that describes serving others and meeting real needs. Sometimes it involves big crowds. At other times, it is a face to face encounter with a few or even one person. Just as Jesus was always involved in ministry, so we must touch hurting lives around us and share the joy of the Christian life.
Abyssinian Baptist Church has many great ministries that offer each participant excellent opportunities to bless others, to honor Christ and to grow in our faith.
Take a moment to browse through the ministries listed on this page and join us in making an impact on the world. To provide an opportunity for people to know Jesus better, and, to challenge people to take the life-transforming message of Jesus to others.

Prayer Ministry (Every Tuesday) - Effective prayer ministry is more than a program, weekly prayer meeting, spiritual discipline, prayer lists, prayer chains, & prayer walks. It is a lifestyle of connecting with and communing with God. Many churches offer those attending their services the chance to seek prayer for a need for themselves, to pray through a concern they have for others, or simply to share in giving thanks for God's blessings to them.
Security Ministry - The Security Ministry exists to provide a safe worship environment for all at the main campus during weekend services and other events as church needs dictate. Our goal is to simply be trained eyes and ears of the church. We apply reasonable, basic security measures to keep all safe and to maximize the flow of ministry, unaffected worship and teaching that is to take place at Abyssinian facilities and events.
Ushers Ministry - This ministry assists in ushering in the presence of God during the worship experience by offering assistance wherever needed.
